Our Volunteers’ Lunch, given biennially to thank all those who are involved in our volunteer projects and our Church Recorders, was held on May 12th. Suzanne and Paul Tisdale most generously hosted the event for us and it was attended by some thirty volunteers from every volunteer group. The lovely weather gave everyone, committee and volunteers alike, the opportunity to stroll round the gardens afterwards and to meet one another resulting in a most relaxed and convivial day. It was good to see the various groups exchanging news and learning about the projects that others are working on.

You can view a full set of pictures of the event on KodakGallery - and order prints if you wish.

A most convivial group of our new members gathered for coffee at the Lord Leycester Hospital where they were introduced to the Committee and their helpers. It was a most enjoyable occasion and an opportunity for them to learn a little more about our society and its wider role in the community.

Over the last year our volunteers have restored the weapons and arms at the Lord Leycester Hospital providing a most valuable inventory and insight into the collection. The new members were fascinated to see their work after the social gathering and were able to explore the historic buildings and garden.
