Study Days ProgrammeOur popular Study Days offer two very contrasting topics this year. November 2011
On November 25th Christopher Bradley will give us “The Queen of Sheba–Empress or Enigma?” The day will reveal some of the background to this 3000 year old story and take us through her journey from the Arabian desert to Jerusalem and her meeting with King Soloman dipicted in the newly restored frescos in Arezzo by Piero della Francesca.
February 2012
Hopefully in better weather than last year, Linda Bradley will bring us on 17th February “From Can–Can to Soup Can: The Story of Modern Art from Paris to New York 1850 to 2000”. We will start in Paris with the Can–can and the Impressionists and move through the Jazz age to the iconic Campbells soup can. Both days will be held at Warwick University HRI Wellesbourne where there is easy parking and excellent facilities. The tickets costing £40 will be on sale at the October meeting for the November day and the November meeting for the February day. For further information on buying tickets for events see Home Page.
